My Bandipur Trip!!



After appearing my pre final exams, I went to my mamaghar Tanahaun Damauli. It was my second trip on motorbike. It was my 125 cc Honda stunner bike with whom I reached mamaghar safely.
April 6 was the day when I headed towards Bandipur from my mamaghar about 40 Km far from it. I was planning to go alone but my added with me. It was almost noon when we crossed Damauli bridge but we were blocked by red flags carrier because they were marching towards Damauli Bazzar blocking the whole highway.
We left the Prithivi Highway and started climbing the steep and narrow road. It took about 25 minutes to reach bandipur. I parked my bike before entering the village because no vehicles were allowed.
Classic newari houses alike Bhaktapur city were rebuilt to give new looks. Houses on both sides of street were developed as lodges, cafes or restaurant.
Being on the top of hill it has problem of water. There were some dhunge dharas but they were not enough to supply for the increasing lodges and resorts. Some resorts seem to be carrying water on huge drums down from Marshyangdi Valley.
On its west there is Thani mai frow where one can view Bandipur clearly. I discovered most of the images of Bandipur were taken from its top. I could not see the Marshyangdi valley and the Himalayas because atmosphere was quite foggy. I called some of my friends at Kathmandu from the top.
Promising to visit again,I rode down hill without engine turning on!!!

Photo Series: In and around Shey-Phoksundo

Back in October of 2018, I was on a week long trek to Shey Phoksundo Lake of Dolpa District in Mid-West Nepal. Accompanied by my two other friends, the trek started from Juphal Dolpa. Hopped on a micro bus from Kathmandu a day earlier to Nepalgunj and started hustling for plane ticket from early morning at Nepalgunj airport for Juphal. Luckily got the boarding pass for all three of us but had to board on two separate twin otters. After a flight of 40 mins I first landed at Juphal on a Nepal Airlines aircraft and my friends, Manobal and Bikram on Tara Air. Panchpokhari Trek 2016

It was just a random message from Shishir bro that popped up on my on facebook messanger, Paanchpohari janey ho? Without thinking more my first response was just huncha. Well , it was some weeks before the actual trekking schedule. He has planned it for the Janaipurnima. He had asked other friends too, and among them only Dharma had also agreed to join this trek. Infact, this was Shishir’s 4th trek to Paanchpokhari in two years. Paanchpokhari; the holy 5 lakes is located at the remote mountain of Sindhupalchok district north of Kathmandu below the beautiful Jugal Himal.
