Fun ride turned BAD!!

Yesterday around 10 AM Shardool bhai called me on cell. We had planned for short mountain bike trip for Pharping Hattiban, a popular hiking and biking destination on Southeast of Kathmandu valley. Finally we headed towards the south at around 1 PM.
Narrow road, hurrying jeeps and buses it was tough ride although the road was tarred until we caught the off road to Hattiban. It was a tough uphill on stone paved jeep track. But we were used to with that kind of uphill. We stopped on several places for the photo shoot. It was fun filled trip.

While returning back we took the same track until a recently made stone steps. We followed the new track until and joined with the Dakshinkali highway. It was downhill up to the Taudaha. Due to the last night rain road was slippery on Hattiban section because its always covered with the trees. We were gaining speed, I took the lead. We entered the Hattiban section. After few minutes it must be BANG!!! I got an accident. After few minutes I woke up inside a car with Shardool on my side. It was like waking up from a nightmare. Those moments we had in Hattiban was like a dream. I was barely recalling my sister's name to call while Shardool was asking. I even managed to tell my friend Sujan Karki's number. I was unconscious for some minutes. Later on I was in Star Hospital  Sanepa.Shardool bhai recalled my memory by showing some pictures form my camera. My sister had called my mama, then he was there. I had X-rays of my bones. Doctor found no cracks. But I was wounded badly on my right cheek and knees. With some medicines I was back to home.
This helmet saved my head. Look at the bruises!!
Still I am trying to recall what exactly happened just before the crash!!!!

Photo Series: In and around Shey-Phoksundo

Back in October of 2018, I was on a week long trek to Shey Phoksundo Lake of Dolpa District in Mid-West Nepal. Accompanied by my two other friends, the trek started from Juphal Dolpa. Hopped on a micro bus from Kathmandu a day earlier to Nepalgunj and started hustling for plane ticket from early morning at Nepalgunj airport for Juphal. Luckily got the boarding pass for all three of us but had to board on two separate twin otters. After a flight of 40 mins I first landed at Juphal on a Nepal Airlines aircraft and my friends, Manobal and Bikram on Tara Air. After having a light meal at Juphal, the trek finally started and we ascended down to Bheri valley till Suligad. Panchpokhari Trek 2016

It was just a random message from Shishir bro that popped up on my on facebook messanger, Paanchpohari janey ho? Without thinking more my first response was just huncha. Well , it was some weeks before the actual trekking schedule. He has planned it for the Janaipurnima. He had asked other friends too, and among them only Dharma had also agreed to join this trek. Infact, this was Shishir’s 4th trek to Paanchpokhari in two years. Paanchpokhari; the holy 5 lakes is located at the remote mountain of Sindhupalchok district north of Kathmandu below the beautiful Jugal Himal.
